Workshops

At the Bloomery, we really enjoy creating space for others to explore their creativity in the floral art form. We don't see ourselves so much as teachers, but enablers and encouragers for people exploring their own creativity and capabilities. We are always happy to share our knowledge and experience, but everyone has their own unique style, and we want to nurture that without overriding your creative instincts.

We have hosted workshops in a variety of locations, including The Port Fairy Community House, Limestone Gallery, Noodledoof Brewery and Distillery, Basalt Winery and The St. Johns Community Hall in Port Fairy, as well as coming to you in your very own home. The opportunities are endless.

Some of our favourite workshops ideas are;

Wreath making

Winter is the perfect time to weave wreaths from grapevines, as the vineyards are all pruning their canes at this time, which makes the vines beautifully soft and pliable to work with. These wreaths can then be decorated again with fresh flowers at Christmas time, and which can be reused year in, year out.

Flower Crowns

Making floral headpieces is a fun and popular way to spend a Hens Day. A lovely, relaxed way to spend time with friends, while learning a new skill and ending up with something beautiful to wear into the night.

Secret word is PROTEA

Vase Arrangements

There are many ways to arrange flowers without using the old fashioned toxic foam base. We teach you some of our favourite ways, in the signature Bloomery style. Come and learn some different techniques for flower arranging. We also encourage you to bring your own vessels from home to make something truly unique.

Keep up to date with any upcoming workshop offerings by following our socials, or fill out an enquiry form if you have an idea for an event for yourself and your friends.
